The Generation of Self-Optimizers

While earlier years may have lacked reflection, Generation Z is characterized by self-optimization.

Have I eaten the right and healthy food? Have I already drunk enough today? Water, unsweetened tea, coffee without milk and without sugar? What about exercise? Endurance, strength, coordination? How long and how deeply did I sleep? When did I go to bed, and how often did I go to the toilet during the night? Did I have enough social contact, or do I need to improve in that area?

Longevity is the new magic word. Once again, we are chasing a fetish. One of the last ones was dietary supplements. The question then was: What is missing from our food and needs to be supplemented? Vitamins, trace elements, amino acids and much more. Countless products flooded the market with fear-inducing information and simple, paid solutions.

With all this thinking and optimizing, we have buried our common sense. We can be grateful that the masterpiece that is the human body, challenged and shaped over thousands of years, functions with remarkable natural intelligence. No matter what we do — too much, too little, or just right — it graciously balances out our “efforts”.

Wine enjoyment cannot be reduced to the “cell toxin” alcohol. There is more to it: relaxation, well-being, communication, social contact, culture, health and much more. With moderate wine consumption, our body is able to deal with the “cell toxin”. We know this from experience.
