Analysis
The analyses of the wines examined so far have produced the following results:
- Red wine can contain relevant amounts of polyphenols and flavonoids.
- White wine contains almost no polyphenols and flavonoids.
- Not all red wines are the same.
- The red wines examined showed differences in the polyphenol content of up to 7 times. In the case of resveratrol, up to 14 times. This means that only analysis can provide certainty that a wine contains sufficient polyphenols.
- Increased polyphenols were detected in the grape varieties Tannat, Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
