WHO recommends warning labels on alcohol
A report was published on science.orf.at on February 14, 2025:
https://science.orf.at/stories/3228904/
"The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends placing warning labels on alcoholic beverages to highlight the risk of cancer. Prominently placed warnings are intended to raise awareness that alcohol consumption can lead to cancer..."
W&G Wein und Gesund took note of this report and submitted a letter to the editorial team of ORF Science. In it, W&G once again emphasized the health-promoting ingredients found in red wine, recommended moderate (red) wine consumption, and rejected alcohol abuse.
Starting March 5, following several ORF interviews with a winemaker, a cardiologist, and an addiction specialist, a series of reports were broadcast on the ORF programs Konkret and ZIB Magazin.
Konkret on March 6 at 6:30 p.m. on ORF2

ZIB Magazin on March 6 at 8:02 p.m. on ORF1

W&G will continue to oppose alcohol bashing and advocate for moderate wine consumption. This includes participating in the congress from March 26 to 28, 2025, in Rome.
