The Mediterranean Diet Is Not a Diet
Mediterranean does not mean vegetarian – and certainly not vegan – just because the plate is full of vegetables. The Mediterranean diet is part of a way of life that brings together all aspects of healthy aging.
Main meals are based on colorful vegetables: red, yellow, green, and blue – shades that are also found in fruits. High-quality olive oil, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, plays a key role. It’s a powerful antioxidant that slows down cell aging and helps prevent inflammation in the body.
Equally essential is red wine, with its valuable polyphenols and flavonoids – a traditional and inseparable part of Mediterranean cuisine.
The Mediterranean lifestyle also includes social connection: enjoying meals with family and friends, taking time to eat, talk, relax, and truly savor the moment. That’s real luxury – with positive effects on your health.
And last but not least: treat yourself to a short midday nap – a simple and powerful tool for more vitality.
